Get Her Chic: Rachel from Redcliffe Style
October 3, 2012 in Fashion
Welcome to the fourth instalment of Get Her Chic, the series where we take a peek into the wardrobes of our favourite bloggers and follow their fashion lead!
We’ve previously featured the beautiful Bec from My Bloggable Day, the magnificent Maria from Crashing Red and the amazing Amy from Absolute Amy.
Today we are lucky enough to have the ravishing Rachel from Redcliffe Style…
Rachel Wernicke is a 39 year-old married mother of two girls. After working as a paralegal in Brisbane for 14 years, she left life in the big city to focus on her family. Once the kids were both in school, it was time get back to work. In October 2011, Rachel started RedcliffeStyle.com as a place to write about the things she enjoyed. RedcliffeStyle.com is a light-hearted blog about lifestyle, fashion, beauty and food. The Facebook page can be found at facebook.com/pages/redcliffe-style, and on twitter at @RedcliffeStyle.
Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your Get Her Chic series.
My styling is based around my laziness and my need to feel good. I will only buy clothes that don’t need ironing and can be thrown in the washer and dryer. I like to be comfortable and I hate wasting my time and energy worrying about my appearance when I am out. I don’t want to worry if my dress is riding up or if my bum is looking big.
I love layering anything and everything and believe you can’t wear too many accessories. I know many people will disagree with me but if you are wondering if you really need to wear that second necklace the answer is always yes and then grab a scarf, a hat and sunglasses. Always grab the sunglasses.
I think fashion is fun and I love to play with colours and patterns.
This is my usual just-thrown-together-school-run outfit.
Straw hat from Billabong. Black Witchery singlet. Orange Metalicus vest. Black uneven skirt from Fleurette by Fleur Wood. Necklace gifted from Silve Jewellery. Shoes gifted from Target. Bracelets, mostly gifts from husband with a few market stall finds throw in. Ralph Lauren sunglasses.
Here’s our take on Rachel’s outfit…
1. Billabong ‘Crystal’ Panama Hat from SurfStitch ($29.99)
2. Witchery Basic Scoop Neck Tank ($29.95)
3. Target ‘Mikki’ Platform Wedge ($40.00)
4. Seed Circle Hem Skirt ($99.95)
5. Lindi Kingi Bracelet from SurfStitch ($29.99)
6. Witchery ‘Stella’ Sunglasses ($69.95)
7. Vignorella Vest from Birdsnest ($79.95)
We love the way Rachel layers up her outfit, so there are many interesting elements to it. Oh and as for buying clothes that only need minimal care and are comfortable? That’s our kind of fashion!
What’s your go to school run outfit? Are you a layering expert?
Stay Chic,
Melinda & Sonia. xx

I love Rachel style especially the fact that she buys clothing that doesn’t need ironing. She has a beautiful style without being too complicated.

[...] Rachel from Redcliffe Style rocked one in her recent Get Her Chic guest post and countless celebrities are spotted wearing one on their off duty days. It looks cool with any outfit or accessory, so you’ve got to give it props for versatility. Not to mention the fact it’s a great disguise for a bad hair day. [...]
