Geek Chic: Melinda’s Favourite iPad Apps

I have a confession: I am addicted to my iPad.
Music, Twitter, Angry Birds, Kardashians, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – it’s like having all of my favourite things in one handy device.
The beauty of the iPad (for me) is that it is small, light and easy to carry around. I generally have it in my bag and I’m often Googling or browsing the app store in bed while Mr puts a pillow over his face to stop the light from keeping him awake!
A few weeks ago, Sonia shared with us her favourite iPhone apps and today, I am sharing five of my favourite iPad apps.
For those of you who don’t know, Sonia and I live in separate cities. Actually, we live in separate states. Evernote has turned into the helpful Shop Me Chic assistant to keep us organised. Evernote is available on iPad, iPhone, Android and also has a computer version for your desktop or laptop. Once you create an account, any time you save a document, image or to do list, it automatically syncs across every device you have. Genius right?
This little app puts all of your favourite things to read – news websites, blogs, even your Twitter and Facebook feeds – and turns it into your own ‘Flipboard’, which is basically your own personalised magazine to flip through!
Pinterest is the most wonderful time waster. I’ve spent a little too many hours pinning pretty outfits, yummy foods, cute babies (or animals) and divine interiors. The app makes it really easy to ‘pin’ images from the web and pinning on my iPad with my morning coffee is one of my favourite rituals!
Houzz is basically a huge database of interior design photos. You can search for different rooms (dining, bedroom, bathroom etc) or different styles (modern, traditional, tropical). You can also add images and products to your idea book to refer back to later. It is such a simple concept but it is so fun looking at all of the different images, sometimes my fiance looks through them with me!
This is a cute little game where you have to find certain items in collages made up of little things (sorry, that is an awful description!). It’s so relaxing and I love laying on the lounge and playing away while Mr watches sport or action movies.

The Welshman says he wishes he got as many cuddles as my iPad does. It is the first thing I pick up in the morning and the last thing I touch at night. I read on my Kindle app at night time in night mode but I read under the covers so as to not disturb the Welshman.
