Kitchen Chic

December 16, 2012 in Uncategorized

I absolutely love this time of year. The atmosphere in the air is just amazing. The carols playing in the shopping centres, the decorations and everyone is so happy! But the best part? Celebrating the Holiday Season with family and friends. I love the season of giving. I love giving people gifts, seeing their faces when they open them. I love adding a little homemade something to my gifts. Usually some cookies, a small jar of jam or lemon curd.

I also love to entertain, however at this time of year things can get a bit hectic. Running around buying gifts, seeing all your family and friends, and attending numerous Christmas parties! So I’ve got some kitchen gadgets to make your life easier if you are entertaining or making some homemade goodies this Christmas.

1. Mastrad Mandolin – $28.95 Everton Online

Don’t you just hate standing in the kitchen and chopping veggies. It always seems to take forever. You can’t go past a mandolin to get the job done. This one from Mastrad has a convenient catcher so your chopped veggies don’t go all over the place. Don’t forget to use the hand guard!

2. Accura Venus Red Scales – $39.93 Kitchenware Direct

I think a chic set of scales makes the perfect accessory for the kitchen bench. I don’t know about you, but unless something like this is sitting on my bench, I probably wouldn’t use it. So it’s a lifesaver when it comes to baking!

3. CuisinArt Mini Food Processor – $84.00 Peters of Kensington

This mini food processor is amazing! You could use this for so many different things: grinding coffee beans, making a cheesecake biscuit base. You could also whip up a quick pesto! It is really a versatile little machine.

4. Russian Doll Measuring Cups – $15.95 Wow Giftware

How adorable are these measuring cups? Too cute to put in the kitchen drawer that’s for sure!

5. KitchenAid Mixer – $685.45 Your Home Depot

Ahh, the crème de la crème of small kitchen appliances! Hands up who is lusting over one of these? I have a cherry red KitchenAid in my kitchen, however if I could fit two of them – this turquoise one would be my next purchase! I honestly don’t know how I survived baking in the kitchen before I got my KitchenAid. They are definitely worth the investment.

Stay Chic,

Melissa xx
