The Friday Five

January 25, 2013 in Children, Fashion

Can you believe it is the last Friday of January already?! Where has this month gone? Probably the same place that 2012 flew to…

For me, this past month has seen us finalise wedding plans and start to get excited about just how close The Big Day really is. We’ve also had the roof go on our extension and the inside start to take shape. I cannot tell you how excited I will be to FINALLY have a bathroom, kitchen and laundry after nearly 8 months!

We celebrated our friends’ son’s 1st birthday, which was a great afternoon. He is a delightful little boy whose smile lights up his entire face. At the request of his lovely mother, we bought him some clothes to see him through the rest of the Summer. I immediately hit up The Iconic and found some very cute little items.

My hen’s night is coming up in a couple of weeks, completely organised by my 4 beautiful bridesmaids. Yes, this control freak super organised Virgo relinquished control and let them plan whatever they liked. Sort of. But I did find a gorgeous Zimmermann number to make me feel chic and special, no matter what embarrassing game they might make me play…!

And finally, I suffer a lot from headaches. This is due to me having a bad back (I had spinal surgery when I was 15 years old) and carrying all my tension in my neck and shoulders. So what’s a girl to do when she’s stuck on the couch with a terrible headache? Pop some Nurofen, pour a cup of tea and hit up the sale section of the Styletread website of course!

So as you probably know, on the last Friday of every month, Melinda and I take turns to round up our five favourite products for the month.

Here’s my Friday Five for January (which all just happen to be on sale – score!)…

1. Zimmermann Silk Lace Back Dress (on sale $200.00) // 2. Marquise ‘Little Chief’ Top and Short Set from The Iconic (on sale $20.97) // 3. Diavolina ‘Willie’ Loafers from Styletread (on sale $23.90) // 4. Max and Tilly ‘Submarine’ Polo T-Shirt from The Iconic (on sale $11.97) // 5. Bebe ‘Callum’ Star Print Boardies from The Iconic (on sale $17.97)

Summer Baby

November 9, 2012 in Children

The countdown to Summer is officially on in my house!

At the beginning of each season, I have so much fun browsing for the boys and making a list of everything they both need added to their wardrobes.

I generally buy all of their clothes online which is a bit tricky at the moment as we are due to move. Our house is getting packed up on Monday and I plan to make a few online purchases from the hotel once we get to Townsville so that I’ll have a few packages once we arrive to the new house (if that doesn’t make me an online shopping addict, I don’t know what does!).

Today I’m sharing a few pieces from some of my favourite brands for babies such as Oobi, Seed, Sooki Baby and Bebe. While I haven’t road tested the pieces for baby girls, I’ve always loved the boys range from those brands and have no doubt the amazing quality extends to the girls ranges too.

Top on my list of Summer baby clothes to purchase is the Country Road ‘Enormous’ Elephant Tee (I might also be planning to order the Fox & Finch romper for my daughter Addison!)

Summer Baby Clothes

1. Fox & Finch Baby Shoulder Tie Bodysuit from Little Boo-Teek ($31.95) //2. Sooki Baby Pirate Ahoy Nappy Pant from Funky Little Fella ($24.95) // 3. Enormous T Shirt from Country Road ($24.95) // 4. Olivia Dress with Bloomer from Cotton On Kids ($29.95) // 5. Turtle Bodysuit from Seed ($39.95) // 6. Bebe Alfie Polo Romper from Little Boo-Teek ($34.95) // 7. Oobi Ruffle Bloomer from Little Styles ($24.95)

I’ve previously included the Bebe Alfie Romper in my 1st Birthday Gifts post but it is such a favourite in our house, that I had to include it again. Apart from being navy (my favourite colour at the moment!), the polo material complete with the collar makes it a little more dressy than a normal onesie yet still comfortable and practical for little boys to run (or crawl) around in!

What are your favourite brands for your little one? Are you counting down to Summer too?

Stay Chic,

Melinda x

A Chic Feature: Little Boo-Teek

May 16, 2012 in Children

When you have children, shopping online becomes even more convenient. Why take out the pram, the nappy bag, snacks and bottles (and of course, the kids!) for a few hours of shopping when I can visit all of my favourite children’s boutiques in the comfort of my bed while sipping on a cup of tea.

Of course with so many boutiques for little people floating around the internet, it can be easy for some fabulous ones to fall through the cracks, so Shop Me Chic makes it easier by finding the brilliant ones and showing them to you!

Today we are introducing you to Little Boo-Teek.

Little Boo-Teek stocks some of my favourite brands for kids, including Alphabet Soup, Bebe by Minihaha, Milky and Fox & Finch.

Stocking clothes, toys, wall decals, canvas prints, blankets, bibs and gorgeous gifts, Little Boo-Teek is the perfect one-stop-shop. Not to mention the beautiful (and easy to use) design of the website itself. It truly is a lovely place to visit.

We had a quick chat to Tina, the stylish mummy of three who was inspired to start Little Boo-Teek after a rather scary experience. During Tina’s third pregnancy, she developed a complication called ‘placenta accreta’. While on bed rest, Tina turned to online shopping to buy clothes for her little girls and as she puts it, “My love of online shopping turned into a passion (actually bordered on an obsession!)”.

Tina gave birth to her third (and healthy) baby girl on 25 May 2011 but battled further complications post-delivery. Tina says, “As I started to recover…With lots of encouragement from my amazing husband, Little Boo-Teek was born. As corny as it may sound I felt I’d been given a second chance and had to grab hold of life and do something I love!”

There are so many online boutiques out there; we wanted to know what sets Little Boo-Teek apart from the rest.

“We stock great quality designer labels BUT our prices aren’t inflated…our love and passion shows in our service and beautifully packaged orders – irrespective of spend!” Tina explains.

Here are a few of my favourite items from Little Boo-Teek based not only on how adorable they are, but also on their price compared to other online stores.

Milky Floral Tunic Top

Alimrose Designs Moo Cow Rattle

Bebe Spencer Fitted Tee

This is one online find you will want to save to your shopping favourites!

Stay Chic,

Melinda & Sonia. Xx

P.S – Don’t forget to check out Little Boo-Teek on Facebook. You could win a $500 gift voucher!
