That One Thing: Fascinators
October 19, 2012 in Fashion
The 2012 Spring Racing Carnival will be kicking off in just a couple of weeks. It’s such a fun and exciting time when it comes to fashion. I love seeing men in sharp suits and women dressed up to the nines in beautiful dresses, coordinating (or clashing!) heels, jewellery, bag and hat. Or even better? A fascinator.
Fascinators can be just as subtle or dramatic as a hat, but can quite often be a lot easier to wear. Not only do they come in a variety of styles but fascinators also come with a variety of price tags, which works perfectly with our That One Thing series. So whether you choose to wear neutral, bright or pastel, there’s bound to be a fascinator to suit you.
Here are some of our fascinating picks…!
Diva Accessories Lime Pleated Satellite Fascinator ($29.99)
Diva has a fantastic range of headpieces in a rainbow assortment of colours – and all for under $50. This particular fascinator caught my eye with its so-hot-right-now neon lime colour and just the right amount of feathers. I also adore the pleat detail which adds another interesting texture. An easy and inexpensive way to be on trend this Spring Racing Carnival.
Alannah Hill ‘Don’t You Worry’ Headband ($69.00)
I don’t know about you, but I was (pleasantly) surprised to discover that the divinely girly brand that is Alannah Hill had such affordable hair accessories. This particular number was my pick of the bunch thanks to the beautiful pink flowers adorned with Swarovski crystals. Blooming lovely!
Mimco ‘Palm Springs’ Racer ($229.00)
Mimco has a gorgeous range of Spring Racing accessories. Just like their jewellery, each headpiece is unique, intricate and an investment piece. The lovely pastel blue tones of this racer would work so well with a ladylike outfit for the ladies day of the Spring Racing Carnival – Oaks Day.
So whether you are heading to the Melbourne Cup itself, a local luncheon or simply entering the sweeps at your workplace, why not rock a fascinator for a bit of fun!
