Let’s face it. Some of us just don’t celebrate Halloween – and I’m one of those people. You won’t catch me dressed up in a crazy costume, our house won’t be decorated with skulls, jack-o-laterns or cobwebs, and if kids come knocking at our door looking for lollies, I’ll mute the TV and pretend we’re not home. Yes. I know. I’m a terrible person.
So in the spirit of not celebrating Halloween, I thought I’d have a bit of fun with some picks that I consider to be Tricks and Treats…
Trick!
1. Typo Tramp Stamp ($2.95)
Have some fun with your co-workers and instead of date stamping their mail, use this ‘seriously WTF’ stamp instead! At home, you could even use it to stamp your electricity or water bill, cos we all know that’s what we’re thinking when we open those bills!
2. Theatrix Magic Hat from Peter’s of Kensington ($35.00)
I’ve always been a fan of magic. Especially the way I can never work out how they really do those damn tricks. So finally here’s my chance to play magician. Now all I have to do it try and stuff my cat into that top hat…
3. Raffaele Iannello ‘Voodoo’ Knife Block & Knife Set from Deals Direct ($99.95)
Now this knife block might be a little gruesome for some, but you get 5 knives with it – that’s a great deal! A quirky little addition to your kitchen benchtop that definitely be a conversation starter. Or ender. Just kidding.
Treat!
4. Verali ‘Honey’ Heel in Neon Yellow ($69.95)
What woman would say not to treating themselves to a new pair of shoes? Certainly not me. I’m obsessed with bright colours for Summer and these neon yellow heels would fit quite nicely into my wardrobe. And with that pricetag, I wouldn’t even have to hide them from the husband-to-be!
5. Sussan ‘Dylan’ Pouch ($39.95)
Sussan always have such great accessories and this clutch is the perfect example. I love the beautiful turquoise colour and the size is perfect for all of my essentials for a night out – with no room for my fiance’s iPhone, keys or sunglasses (does anyone else get stuck trying to shove everything into an evening bag?!).
6. Hello Darling ‘Teenage Dream’ Nail Polish ($20.95)
The girls at Hello Darling always come up with the goods when it comes to on trend colours. This particular shade is from the ‘Crazy In Love’ range, with each colour named after a pop love song. So I guess this nail polish gives me permission to wear a purple wig and roll around in a pile of fairy floss? No? OK then.
Do you celebrate Halloween? Would you choose trick or treat?
Stay Chic,
Sonia. xx
