Well this is it.
My final post for Shop Me Chic before I become a married woman (tomorrow!) and fly away on my European honeymoon (next Monday!).
As you may have read last week, my very-soon-to-be-husband and I are heading to Paris, Italy and Dubai on a four week honeymoon which I am totally beyond excited about. I can’t wait to wander the streets of Paris, eat my way through Italy and take in the exotic wonders of Dubai.
While we’re enjoying the last days of Summer here in Australia, Europe is coming out of a very cold Winter. So for me, this means putting away my little sun dresses and pulling out my cooler weather clothes.
“Too soon! Too soon!” she cried.
Between renovating and extending our home and planning our wedding, I didn’t have time to start adding to my Winter wardrobe. So of course I had a mild panic attack when I realised I was missing some cooler weather essentials, but then my Shop Me Chic research skills quickly kicked in and I made some purchases.
Here’s what I’ll be packing for Paris. And Italy. And Dubai (it’s only going to be 22 degrees there!)…
1. ASOS Animal Print Tunic ($49.94) // 2. Therapy ‘Tribeca’ Leopard Loafer ($39.95) // 3. ASOS ‘Casper’ Knee High Boots ($74.90) // 4. Witchery Pull On Ponte Pant ($79.95) // 5. Siren ‘Hellier’ Wedge Sneaker (on sale $59.95)
The time has come for me to bid you all au revoir, arrivederci and bye for now. I’ll see you all back here in the second week of April. Promise me you’ll take good care of Melinda, OK?
Do you have any pearls of wisdom about marriage you can share with me?
Stay Chic,
Sonia xx

We may still be lapping up the final days of hot weather; however we are officially just around the corner from Autumn. This means stores everywhere are discounting Summer stock (score!) and filling their shelves with Autumn and Winter fashion (exciting!).
One trend to keep an eye on this Autumn/Winter is a particular favourite of mine…
Lace.
Lace has had a real resurgence of late and I for one am so glad about that. It’s a beautiful fabric that is incredibly feminine, elegant and classic. Lace is a wonderful way to add texture to an outfit and it can be worn day or night. Corporate, casual or chic.
Here are some lovely lace picks to add to your Autumn/Winter wardrobe…
1. Witchery Lace Front Top ($79.95) // 2. ModCloth ‘A Lace in Mind’ Dress ($54.99) // 3. Oasis Lace Pencil Skirt from ASOS (on sale $33.29) // 4. Forever New ‘Lola’ Day Dress ($79.99) // 5. Whistles Sporty Lace Skirt from ASOS ($183.10) // 6. ModCloth ‘Twist of Lime’ Top ($34.99)
Are you a fan of lace? How do you like to add lace to an outfit?
Stay Chic,
Sonia xx

Remember the countless times I’ve told you about my love for leopard and how I consider it a neutral? Well there’s another print love in my life that I’d like to share with you today. Everyone, meet Stripes.
Stripes are another timeless print that have been around forever and will continue to be around forever. Sure, they may go in and out of fashion, but I don’t believe they are ever truly out of style.
And this year?
“Stripes will be everywhere for spring,” Miranda Kerr recently told Grazia magazine.
Win!
To make sure you’re wearing the stripes and not the other way around, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:
Here are some picks that will have you seeing stripes in no time…
1. ModCloth ‘Cutting Edge Chic’ Top ($34.99) // 2. Portmans ‘Jana’ Striped Ponti Dress ($89.95) // 3. Witchery Long Sleeve Linen Stripe Tee ($69.95) // 4. ASOS ‘Love’ Stripe Dress ($63.25) // 5. ASOS Elbow Patch Cardigan ($36.62)
Are you a fan of stripes? How do you like to wear yours?
Stay Chic,
Sonia xx

Welcome to the second instalment of our new monthly series, Shop Your Birthstone!
Each month we will bring to you some beautiful birthstone jewels as well as other shopping suggestions of your birthstone colour.
February’s birthstone is the amazing Amethyst.
The purple variety of quartz, Amethyst is associated with stability, peace, balance, courage, inner strength, sincerity and a calm disposition. The healing properties of Amethyst are believed to assist health problems such as headaches, insomnia, arthritis, circulatory system issues and general healing.
The colour purple is traditionally associated with royalty and the Amethyst has been used for much of history to adorn the rich and powerful monarchs and rulers. No wonder The Artist Formerly Known As Prince always wore purple…!
Here are our picks for February…
1. Amethyst Solitaire Studs in Sterling Silver from Angara ($191.59) // 2. ModCloth ‘Looking Like a Million’ Dress ($79.99) // 3. butter LONDON ‘HRH’ Nail Polish from Down That Little Lane ($22.00) // 4. Pandora February Birthstone Ring from Gillett’s ($59.00) // 5. Tony Bianco ‘Tilly’ Suede Heels ($139.95) // 6. Cambridge Satchel Company 15″ Leather Satchel Exclusive to ASOS ($224.71) // 7. Witchery ‘Summer Soft’ Scarf ($19.95)
Do you have a birthday in February? Is purple your favourite colour?

This time next week, lovers everywhere will be celebrating each other. Whether it is a grand, extravagant celebration or a small, modest evening at home – how you celebrate Valentine’s Day is as individual as you are as a couple. And let’s face it, when you’re with the one you love, you’ll have a great time no matter what.
As for my fiancé and I, we tend not to make a big deal of Valentine’s Day. We do however always make sure we spend the evening at home together, cook dinner and just enjoy each other’s company.
Earlier in the week, Melinda featured 5 great gifts for the special guy in your life and today I have 7 fabulous items that are all under $60 and that any woman would be grateful to receive on the most romantic day of the year.
1. Glasshouse Fragrances Candle from David Jones ($39.95)
Ask any girl what brand of candle they like and chances are Glasshouse will be mentioned. With a gorgeous collection of fragrances representing destinations all over the world, you don’t have to travel anywhere to feel like you’re far, far away. Bora Bora anyone…?
2. Diane von Furstenberg ‘Lock Heart’ iPhone 5 Cover from Shopbop ($39.84)
Changing your phone cover is like giving it a mini makeover. Shopbop has a fantastic range of designer phone covers, such as this adorable DVF one, that are much more affordable than a designer handbag. Which means you can change your phone cover a lot more often!
3. Sterling Silver ‘Baby Heart’ Necklace from Down That Little Lane ($55.00)
This simple yet stunning necklace would make a fabulous addition to your jewellery collection and is a piece that could be worn every day. A lovely way to carry your significant other’s heart with you.
4. Witchery ‘Abstract’ Scarf ($49.95)
Let’s face it, scarves are a wonderful distraction. They distract from a tired face, a bloated belly or even a stain from a certain little someone’s Vegemite toast. Witchery has a fabulous range of scarves and I absolutely adore the colours in this little number. A very versatile accessory!
5. Shabby Sisters ‘Turquoise Crowns’ Earrings ($48.00)
You can always count on Shabby Sisters for a classic and beautiful piece of jewellery. These gorgeous sterling silver and turquoise earrings are special enough to be worn on a night out yet simple enough to be worn with jeans and a white t-shirt.
6. Peter Alexander ‘Anchors’ Nightie ($59.90)
Peter Alexander sleepwear is like candy without the calories. Always sweet, always colourful, always a treat to receive. This little number is nautical and nice, perfect for when it’s time to retire to the captain’s quarters with your first mate. Ahoy there!
7. ModCloth ‘Letter Together’ Mug Set ($29.99)
As soon as I saw the name of these adorable mugs, I started humming the Jack Johnson song, Better Together. Obviously a play on that song title, this is a sweet gift that could be shared over a morning coffee with the one you love. “We’re better together…”
How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? How do you leave hints for the gift you’d like to receive?
Stay Chic,
Sonia xx

December 13, 2012 in Fashion, Lifestyle
If you’ve been playing along with us this past month, you would have seen that we’ve covered nearly every member of the family when it comes to gifts for Christmas – babies, toddlers, men and even the best beauty gift packs around.
Now it’s the fun part. Gifts for us. Women!
If you’re anything like me, you can think of a million things you want during the year, but when a special occasion such as your birthday or Christmas rolls around and people start asking you what you want, you draw a blank.
So I’ve done a little research for you (and me, if anyone I know is reading this!) and found some items that are practical, beautiful and would be appreciated by any women unwrapping them on Christmas Day.
1. Witchery ‘Stella’ Sunglasses ($69.95)
You can’t go past a classic pair of black sunglasses. Sun smart and chic, this Witchery pair is a great choice that won’t date or break the bank. Add to cart!
2. Styling You Phone Case from The Dairy (from $35.00)
We are huge fans of Nikki’s ‘Style Manifesto’ and some of her best fashion tips have been captured on phone cases for both iPhone and Galaxy. Treat the fashionista in your life!
3. Colette by Colette Hayman Luxury Leather Tote in Coral ($99.95)
Colette has recently launched a range of leather bags and wallets at incredibly reasonable prices. My pick is this coral tote bag – a perfect colour for summer and a great size to carry around all of your essentials.
4. Mimco Mini Crystal Dome Studs in Rose Gold ($39.95)
I have these exact earrings and I also have them in silver. They have become my staple earrings for just about every day as they match just about everything. A beautiful gift that will get a lot of use – I can vouch for that!
5. Kikki.K ‘Winterland’ Gift Pack ($29.95)
This very cute gift pack includes a small diary, notebook elastic, pen and mini metal paper clips. Perfect for helping the woman in your life to stay organised in the New Year in style. I have actually purchased the larger size of this diary and I completely adore it.
6. Sass and Bide for Havianas ($49.95)
I’m sure there are plenty of us who have more than one pair of Havianas in our shoe wardrobe. They’re a summer staple! This collaboration with Aussie fashion superstar brand Sass and Bide features black and grey cheetah print and a single sweet gold star.
7. Nerine Anne Designs Neon Tassel Necklace in Yellow ($38.00)
As you probably know, Melinda and I are huge fans of neon – we love the way it adds a pop of colour to any outfit. This necklace is a fab choice for those who want just a hint of neon, and would look effortlessly cool with a white tank and tailored shorts.
What will you be buying the women in your life this Christmas?
Stay Chic,
Sonia. xx

December 4, 2012 in Fashion
The days are getting hotter, and there’s really no better feeling than slipping out of your work wear after a long day and into some comfy casuals to head down to the beach for a sunset walk or to wander down to your local café for a gelati.
But just because you’re going casual doesn’t mean you can’t also be chic.
You can still incorporate the biggest trends of Summer 2012-13 – think neon, metallic and prints – with classic pieces to create a fabulous outfit while still being incredibly comfortable.
Here are some casual chic items to get you started…
1. Witchery Summer Low Back Dress in Coral ($129.95)
I love a dress that you can just throw on over your bathers (or nothing at all!) and it looks glam just as it is.
2. Novo ‘Seattle’ Sandals ($59.95)
Neutral with just the right amount of beading to give these sandals some lift.
3. Sussan ‘Carpenter’ Linen Shorts in Blush ($49.95)
Linen is such a lovely Summer fabric and these fab shorts come in a variety of colours including blush, lagoon (blue), crimson and golden kiss.
4. Seduce ‘Jet-Setter’ Shorts from Jour et Nuit ($109.95)
A great pair of tailored black shorts are always in style. An investment piece for sure.
5. Billini ‘Hannah’ Sandals in Leopard from StyleTread ($19.95)
Leopard print is always in fashion (in my opinion!) and at this price, you can afford to buy them in every colour.
6. Forever New ‘Bethany’ Floral A-Line Skirt ($49.99)
I love a good a-line skirt that sits above the knee. Fun, flirty and feminine.
7. Dotti Twist Strap Maxi Dress ($59.95)
Another fantastic “throw it on and go” dress in the maxi form. Love the stripes and the twist strap detail.
8. Forever New ‘Willow’ Neon Trim Swing Tank in Fluorescent Lime ($29.99)
I adore a swing tank – they are stylish yet forgiving! And this Forever New number is right on trend, with its pop of neon, which comes in lime or coral.
9. Esther ‘Beach Time’ Tank ($49.00)
Another cute stripey number that would look great with denim cutoffs or tailored shorts.
What’s your favourite casual chic outfit?

Sonia. xx

One of my many fashion mantras is “a dress is an instant outfit” – you put one on and you are pretty well good to go.
So when it comes to the festive season and the multitude of events we have to attend, it’s good to have a few gorgeous dresses hanging in your wardrobe, ready to be pulled and put on whenever the occasion strikes.
Considering many of us have to attend work parties, networking events and maybe even our partner’s workplace Christmas dinner, the dress code for dresses is slightly different to a night out on the town. Generally, I tend to dress slightly more conservative if it is a professional event – hemlines not too high, not too much skin exposed, but still staying true to my personal style.
The other bonus of attending events with different crowds? You can wear the same dress to more than one occasion. Score one for your bank balance!
With all this in mind, I’ve found 5 fabulous frocks to get you through the festive season – and beyond…
1. Cooper St ‘Fiesta’ Dress from Myer Online ($139.95) // 2. Cue Ruffle Front Dress ($259.00) // 3. Alannah Hill ‘I Shouted At Him’ Frock ($399.00) // 4. Witchery Lace Peplum Dress ($289.95) // 5. Seduce ‘Mercury Rising’ Dress from Jour et Nuit ($189.95)
Will you be attending any Christmas parties this festive season? What are you planning on wearing?
Stay Chic,
Sonia. xx
